Please try again later. Kindle Edition Verified download. As an intermediate-level German student, I found this challenging to read, with a very broad vocabulary and some regionalisms that I couldn't find in my dictionaries. However, the descriptive language is absolutely gorgeous!

Roth paints a vivid picture of the scenes and his characters that even transcended my limitations with the language.
