They should have at least sat them down and given then the cliff note version. But I guess that's for the next book. I read this book in middle school and loved it so now that I'm an adult I decided to reread it and see if it held some of the same magic for me.
Sadly it didn't as I now found some of the plot just completely crazy. But I did still love the characters all the same and still felt such a connection to both twins albeit I was more inclined to feel for Alex more as she lost much more during the book than Cam did.
But I loved the ending and how she sorta got some of it back in Cam's family. Very Fun Cute. I was looking for something quick, fun, and younger skewing to block out the world a bit. Remembered the films which lead me to these novels. Prefer the novels. Will keep reading. Mar 20, Amy Cornwell rated it it was amazing. Read this series as a teen.
It was such a good series. I loved the sun and moon aspect. The characters were very enjoyable. May 25, Brenda rated it liked it. Not bad but very scripted writing that is tedious after a while. Sep 30, Diana rated it it was amazing Shelves: Scholastic Inc. ISBN Twitches. What does that sound like to you? This book is about two twin witches that never knew the other existed, until one day when they met each others' faces in an amusement park.
Cam Barnes and Alex Fielding were separated since they were born and never knew their true identities. They are actually from another "world" and unlike normal people, they have special powers pas Twitches: They are actually from another "world" and unlike normal people, they have special powers passed down from their parents.
Their uncle tries to steal their powers so he can take over the world, and so, he took the most powerful powers, which was from their father, his brother, and killed him.
To be able to "capture" their powers, he pretends to be the best uncle ever, but deep down, he has a secret of his own, just like these twins themselves. It sounds very mysterious and that's what I like about it.
It keeps me going to continue reading this book and at times, it makes me think deeper into this book. Actually, I've seen this movie on Disney Channel and I liked watching the movie, too. Still, I like watching the movie more because I like to see things more visually than to just mentally think about it. I think that it's better to see and hear something from your own eyes and ears, than instead of only with your eyes.
I would recommend this book because I liked it alot. It's about powers and mysteries, which I liked reading these books since I was young. I've always loved reading about mysteries because while reading, I like to guess along. Although I don't really like the feeling of guessing, I think that it's fun to think about what is going to happen next in the book or a specific "case" in the book.

The power of 2 are stronger then alone. When combined, their powers are the strongest.
When joined, their great power awakens. Great power is very easily sensed by their uncle, therefore it would be easier to find them. That is the reason why the two were separated at birth; their mother put them far away from each other so their uncle can't find them. I would recommend this book for teenagers because teenagers are normally interested in supernatural things. Some teens like to read about magic, fantasy, etc. I think this book would bring a lot of thrill to the reader.
Great for people who love to interpret what happens next.
To be honest, I remembered this series from my childhood as being very interesting and dealing with a lot of issues that are important. Now I read it again, because I got that need for something nostalgic, and I can't find what it is I liked about this as a child. Maybe I did like it back then, but I don't think it's a book I would give to a child to read now. Though I'm sure many would like it. In my opinion, the story deals more with issues of death, dealing with it, family, being accepted in To be honest, I remembered this series from my childhood as being very interesting and dealing with a lot of issues that are important.
In my opinion, the story deals more with issues of death, dealing with it, family, being accepted in your family, accepting others as they are and other such issues than it does with the fact that the twins have powers.
I appreciate that about the book, yet the whole thing with the powers doesn't seem needed. The fantasy part of the story with that other world is a bigger part of the story than the actual powers are as well. It's a very predictable story as well, I remember very well how I figured everything out as a child.
In any case, I won't be rereading the rest of the series. Though I do remember it getting better as the series goes on, so maybe if I have a sudden need for nostalgia again.. Who knows. Mar 05, Kirsten rated it it was amazing.
Twins and Witches! What could be better? Well except the fact that their destinies are intertwined for a greater purpose in another world where they were born in and only by working together can they defeat the darkness that threatens to consume it all.

Camryn and Alex are exact opposites but for some reason they make the perfect sisters in this thrilling novel. With their fates tied to both the human world and their birth world, Camryn and Alex have to cope with far more than the typical teenager.

I just recently reread the book as an adult. While I still enjoyed the story, I realized just how dated this book was with all the pop culture references: I did enjoy the references though as they are my childhood, but newer readers might be confused.
Aug 24, Jerry rated it really liked it. The Good: At its core, this was an enjoyable "young adult" drama that didn't have the content problems--illicit sex, profanity, etc. It's different than the Disney Channel interpretation, but, in some ways, that's actually better.
The story takes many twists and turns, but kept me going the whole way through.
The Bad: Though I liked the book as a whole, I did think one character's disparaging remark about God was unnecessary. Some discer The Good: Some discerning readers may take offense to that. If you're going into this expecting a novelization of the DCOM, you're going to be disappointed Feb 18, Christina rated it really liked it Shelves: She, like many others falling under the Goddess' name are why I chose the name as a nickname growing up. Especially if you love characters like Karsh, and his protege. Jan 15, Sarah Crawford rated it really liked it. The first novel opens by examining the lives of both girls, Alex and Cam, where they are living, what they are going through and so forth. The girls are brought together but initially refuse to accept that they are really twins.
They use their powers for good, of course. Early in the story they even manage to save the lives of an entire family on a ferris wheel. The story is well done, especially in the personalities given to the two girls. It is interesting to see how growing up in totally differ The first novel opens by examining the lives of both girls, Alex and Cam, where they are living, what they are going through and so forth.
It is interesting to see how growing up in totally different environments changes the girls, yet it's also interesting to see how, in their cores, they are still twins, meshing well with each other. I really liked the first book and am looking forward to reading the rest in the series. Okay, so this book was very enjoyable and it took me hardly 3 or 4 days to skim through it. The character development was great and I liked Alex's character the most. I mean the girl was just damn unlikable aka likable to me.
But the writing was VERY shabby.
I mean sometimes I could not even understand what the authors meant. And the short forms were horrible! They might as well start calling parents 'rents.
Too much slang. But it was fast paced and sometimes cliche but Alex made up fo 3. But it was fast paced and sometimes cliche but Alex made up for it. I didn't like the way "rich" girls character was portrayed. They are not necessarily like that, I think. This is totally for kids of age But I think I might continue with the series.
